If you liked ImmoKiller v1.0, then you will love this updated version ImmoKiller v1.1. It includes more vehicles and more pictures. This is a very useful tool for car immobilizer circuit repair, troubleshooting or, in some cases, elimination. This works with all the 146 supported car models listed further below.

What is the immobilizer? The immobilizer is a circuit installed in most modern cars as a theft deterrent. For this purpose, it matches an unique code stored in a very small chip inserted in the key, with a code that was previously written in the ecu. If the code doesn't match, the car engine either won't start or will start for a second an a half and will immediately die.

As you may guess, when keys are lost, the car won't start even with a perfect copy of the key, as the code in its chip is unique.

There is when immo killer comes in. It will help in reprogramming the car's ecu so it will work with any key that turns the cylinder.

Great for troubleshooting too. Temporally eliminating the immobilizer with immo killer, will allow you to know if the car is not starting because of the immobilizer itself or for any other problem. This will turn in huge money saving by eliminating the guessing and providing real results!

This software will run on any x86 PC computer, but we recommend a minimum of Pentium II 133Mhz, running Windows 2000 / XP, 256 MB RAM, 30 MB Hard disk space and a monitor capable of a resolution of 1024x768 pixels.

NOTE: You will need a device programmer for writing to the ecu the code generated by immo killer. Any serial eprom programmer will do the job, even the cheap ones.

SOIC-8 Clips, "Pomona" brand, can be obtained from Digikey.com in the link below. While the clip pictured in that link is for an SOIC-28, it is for representation only, as the part number in that page is for the SOIC-8.

Because a wiring harness is needed to use the clip, you may construct your own. It is not difficult, but you may also obtain complete assembled kits from several sources, like the one shown below.

Lastly, you will need a serial EEPROM programmer to read/write the EEPROM chips. While there are both expensive and non-expensive units available, what is really important is that such unit is able to work with the target device or devices (EEPROMs). Below are two examples of good programmers.
